Process / Methods

My preferred approach is Extreme Programming - a low-ceremony, high-discipline Agile process that delivers running, tested features every two weeks. I've been involved with XP since 1999 and was the third independent signatory to the Agile Manifesto in 2001.

Tools and Technologies

I've delivered software and teams in a lot of environments including FORTRAN, C/C++ and Java. My current passions are ObjectiveC on the iPhone, and Ruby (straight Ruby, Rails, Capistrano).

Speaking

As well as being involved with XP conferences since 2000, I've recently spoken at RailsConf 2007 in Portland,OR, RailsConfEurope 2008 in Berlin and RubyConf2008 in Orlando, FL. I also organise the annual Scotland on Rails conference in Edinburgh.
